Ingredients

Scale

Tuna Mixture

  • 1 cup fresh sushi-grade tuna, diced
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (preferably Japanese mayo)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (divided)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Wonton Wrappers

  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • Cooking spray or oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the wonton bites to a crispy golden perfection.
  2. Prepare Tuna Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced sushi-grade tuna with Sriracha, Japanese mayonnaise, sesame oil, and half of the sliced green onions. Stir well until everything is evenly mixed. Taste and adjust the spiciness if needed.
  3. Assemble Wontons: Take one wonton wrapper and place about one tablespoon of the tuna mixture right in the center. Fold the wrapper carefully and seal the edges tightly to ensure the filling stays inside during baking.
  4. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the filled wonton wrappers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly brush or spray the tops with oil or cooking spray to help them crisp up beautifully in the oven.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the wontons are a lovely golden brown and deliciously crispy.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining green onions on top for a fresh burst of flavor. Serve the Spicy Tuna Bites warm as an appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Use fresh sushi-grade tuna for the best flavor and safety.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha according to your desired spice level.
  • Brush the wontons with oil for extra crispiness, but cooking spray works well too.
  • These can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving for best texture.
  • Serve with soy sauce or additional spicy mayo for dipping if desired.
