Ingredients

Scale

Snack Base

  • 11 oz mini Saltine crackers

Seasoning Mixture

  • 1/2 cup avocado oil
  • 2 TBSP Ranch dip seasoning blend (such as Hidden Valley)
  • 1 TBSP crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried dill (fresh dill works too)
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (or more, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Seasoning Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the avocado oil, ranch dip seasoning blend, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, dried dill, and cayenne pepper until well combined to create a spicy, flavorful coating.
  2. Coat Crackers: Add the mini saltine crackers to an easy-seal plastic bag, pour in the seasoning mixture, and seal the bag. Gently massage and mix the crackers inside the bag to evenly coat each cracker with the spicy ranch mixture without breaking them.
  3. Soak Crackers: Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). While the oven heats, allow the coated crackers to soak in the mixture for about 10 minutes so they absorb the flavors.
  4. Bake Crackers: Spread the coated crackers out evenly on a parchment paper or foil-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the crackers are lightly toasted and crispy.
  5. Cool and Store: Remove the crackers from the oven and allow them to cool completely. Store cooled crackers in an airtight container at room temperature; they will stay crispy for about one week. Serve and enjoy your spicy ranch fire crackers as a delicious snack!

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper and crushed red pepper flakes to control the spiciness to your preference.
  • Using fresh dill instead of dried will provide a brighter, herbaceous flavor.
  • Ensure crackers are spread in a single layer for even baking and crispiness.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness and crunch.
  • Avocado oil is preferred for its mild flavor and high smoke point, but other neutral oils like canola or grapeseed can be used.
