Ingredients

Scale

Seafood

  • 1 lb Shrimp (Fresh or frozen, thawed and patted dry)
  • 1 lb Crab Meat (Opt for lump crab for richness; imitation crab is a budget alternative)

Pasta

  • 12 oz Lasagna Noodles (Cook until al dente)

Cheeses & Dairy

  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese (Divided)
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream

Sauce & Flavorings

  • 2 cups Alfredo Sauce (Homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (Chopped)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper
  • to taste Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the lasagna later.
  2. Cook Lasagna Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Cook Seafood: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Then fold in the crab meat and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.
  5. Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, heavy cream, and fresh parsley. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Assemble Lasagna: In a baking dish, start with a layer of Alfredo sauce, then lay down noodles, followed by the cheese mixture, the seafood mixture, and another layer of Alfredo sauce. Repeat these layers twice more to build the lasagna.
  7. Top Layers: Finish with a final layer of noodles and Alfredo sauce. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs evenly on top.
  8. Bake Covered: Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes to allow the lasagna to heat through and meld flavors.
  9. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Rest and Serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the layers set for clean serving and maximizes flavor.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine to the seafood during cooking.
  • Use lump crab meat for a more indulgent texture; imitation crab is a suitable budget option.
  • Make sure to not overcook the noodles as they will continue cooking in the oven.
  • If preferred, substitute Alfredo sauce with a béchamel sauce for a more traditional taste.
  • Use gluten-free lasagna noodles if gluten intolerance is a concern.
  • The crumb topping provides a nice crunch; omit or substitute with crushed nuts if desired.
