Dough and Filling
- 2 tubes crescent dough sheets
- 1 pound deli-sliced ham
- 8 cheddar cheese sticks
Butter Topping
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ½ tablespoon dried minced onion or onion powder
- ½ tablespoon poppy seeds
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent dough sheets and cut each sheet into 4 equal pieces, giving you a total of 8 pieces.
- Add Ham and Cheese: Evenly distribute the deli-sliced ham across the 8 dough pieces. Place one cheddar cheese stick on top of the ham on each piece. Fold the ends of the dough over the filling and roll tightly to seal the edges and encase the filling.
- Arrange Sticks on Baking Sheet: Place the prepared ham and cheese rolls seam-side down on the greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced evenly.
- Make the Butter Glaze: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, dried minced onion (or onion powder), and poppy seeds. Stir well to form a flavorful glaze.
- Brush the Sticks: Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of each rolled stick. This will give them a beautiful golden color and added flavor.
- Bake: Bake the sticks in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and the crescent dough is fully cooked.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve the Ham and Cheese Sticks hot and fresh. Enjoy as a tasty appetizer or snack!
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese sticks with mozzarella or your preferred cheese for variation.
- Use fresh minced onion if available instead of dried onion powder for a stronger onion flavor.
- For an extra crispy crust, brush the sticks with an additional layer of the butter glaze halfway through baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
- These sticks can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake.
