Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups gluten-free O’s cereal
  • 1 cup gluten-free peanuts (Planters Lightly Salted Roasted Peanuts recommended)
  • 1 cup gluten-free mini pretzel twists (Snyder’s recommended)

Seasoned Salt

  • 11/2 Tablespoons sea salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt (from above)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the snack mix evenly.
  2. Prepare Seasoned Salt: In a small bowl, combine sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and sugar to create the homemade seasoned salt. Set aside.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a very large mixing bowl, add Rice Chex, Corn Chex, gluten-free O’s cereal, and gluten-free peanuts. Mix gently and set aside.
  4. Melt Butter and Combine Wet Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl or microwave-safe cup, melt the butter in the microwave for about 60 seconds until fully melted. Add the gluten-free Worcestershire sauce and 2 teaspoons of the homemade seasoned salt (note that not all of the seasoned salt is used here). Stir well to combine.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the butter and Worcestershire sauce mixture evenly over the dry cereal and peanut mix. Use a spatula to stir and coat the mixture thoroughly.
  6. Bake the Mixture: Transfer the coated mixture to an 11×17-inch or larger baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting and prevent burning. The mixture should turn a light golden brown.
  7. Add Pretzels and Cool: Remove the baked cereal mix from the oven and gently stir in the gluten-free mini pretzel twists. Allow the mix to cool completely before serving to achieve the best crunch and flavor.

Notes

  • Use certified gluten-free ingredients to maintain the recipe’s gluten-free status.
  • Stirring every 15 minutes during baking ensures even browning and prevents burning.
  • The amount of seasoned salt used in the butter mixture is less than the total prepared; save the rest for another use or seasoning.
  • Allow the mixture to cool completely to help it crisp up nicely.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to one week to maintain freshness.
