Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixture

  • 1/2 cup chopped chocolate pieces
  • 1 cup non-dairy Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sweetener of choice (sugar-free, white or brown sugar)

Dry Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup regular or gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Additional Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup preferred milk (such as unsweetened almond milk)

Optional

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Pan and Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, making sure the paper extends beyond the edges to help with easy removal of the brownies later. Set this prepared pan aside.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Combine Wet Ingredients: Place the chopped chocolate pieces in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate in short bursts, stirring occasionally to avoid burning, until smooth. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly for 1-2 minutes. Then add the non-dairy Greek yogurt and your preferred sweetener. Whisk everything together until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Transfer this mixture to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients and Combine with Wet Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda to the chocolate mixture. Stir gently until just combined to avoid overmixing. Pour in the preferred milk and mix well until the batter is fully incorporated. If using, fold in the chocolate chips carefully to distribute them evenly throughout the batter.
  4. Bake the Brownies: Pour the prepared batter into the lined baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula if needed. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a skewer or toothpick into the center – it should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter.
  5. Cool the Brownies: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Using the parchment paper overhang, lift the brownies from the pan and place them on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares. Enjoy your healthier zero sugar chocolate brownies!
