Ingredients

Scale

Protein & Vegetables

  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion, sliced
  • 3/41 pound sirloin steak or tenderloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Noodles & Sauces

  • 3 packages ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Boil Noodles: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Just before you cook the steak, add the ramen noodles and cook for about 3 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Onions: While the water is heating, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, for 6–8 minutes until they are lightly browned and softened.
  3. Cook Steak: Add the thinly sliced sirloin steak to the skillet with the onions. Stir often and cook for 2–3 minutes until the steak reaches your desired doneness, ideally medium to medium-rare to keep it tender.
  4. Add Sauce: Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sriracha, toasted sesame oil, lime juice, minced garlic, and water. Pour this sauce mixture directly into the skillet with the steak and onions. Stir to coat evenly and reduce heat if the sauce is bubbling vigorously to avoid overcooking.
  5. Toss Noodles: Add the drained ramen noodles to the skillet. Toss everything thoroughly so the noodles absorb the sauce and everything is well mixed.
  6. Serve Immediately: Once combined and heated through, transfer the beef and noodles to plates and serve hot for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For tender beef, use sirloin or tenderloin and avoid overcooking.
  • Adjust sriracha quantity to manage spiciness according to your taste.
  • Discard ramen seasoning packets for a cleaner sauce flavor, then season with the provided sauces.
  • To make this dish gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos and use gluten-free noodles.
  • Add fresh vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra nutrition and texture.
