Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon (about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch bites)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise
  • ½ cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Chives (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 390°F and allow it to fully preheat for optimal cooking results.
  2. Prepare the seasoning mixture: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper to create the seasoning blend.
  3. Coat the salmon bites: Add the salmon pieces to the bowl with the seasoning mixture, gently tossing to ensure each bite is evenly coated.
  4. Make the bang bang sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey until smooth and well combined.
  5. Divide the sauce: Pour half of the bang bang sauce into another bowl; this will be reserved for drizzling later. Toss the seasoned salmon bites in the remaining half of the sauce to coat.
  6. Cook the salmon bites: Place the coated salmon bites in a single, even layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding by working in batches if needed. Air fry for 4-5 minutes, then flip the bites and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 140-145°F.
  7. Finish and serve: Remove the cooked salmon bites and toss them gently in the reserved bang bang sauce. Transfer to a serving plate, drizzle with any remaining sauce, and garnish generously with chopped chives before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  • Use fresh chives for a mild onion flavor and a pop of color as garnish.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha in the sauce to suit your preferred spice level.
  • Check the salmon’s internal temperature with a food thermometer to ensure it is safely cooked but still tender.
  • If you don’t have Thai sweet chili sauce, a combination of sweet and spicy sauces can be experimented with, but the flavor will vary.
